... to Geoff that I thought Hendaye was in the opposite direction. Agreeing, we wait for the train to loop back or shunt out and then head towards its, in our minds, proper destination.
It was not to be and an announcement over the speaker system confirms our fears that this was the train to Paris!! Thankfully it stopped at Biarritz, where we got off waited and caught the train to Hendaye which we would and should have caught at St Jean which was running forty five minutes late. ...

there had been teeming crowds, noisy interactions, busy food places and
hustlers on every corner now it was overcast, there were rows and rows of
plastic chairs all stacked up, the beach was empty, no buskers and even the few
hustlers seemed half hearted, school had gone back and the party had finished!
We continued to travel along the Spanish coast and spent
another night in the carpark of a marina.
... Our first 2 experiences in San Sebastián, both involving toilets, were very nasty!! Thank God the rest of our experience has been nothing but positive & a great delight. This is truly a beautiful part of the world. As Jul said, "it's sort of the "Portsea of Spain", & she is on the money!! Jul was physically sick with exhausted after Barcelona, & spent a couple of hrs sleeping in the afternoon trying to recoup. Siesta time is ...
... its a fun way to have a night out. Didn't stay out too late though as we're on an 8am bus in the morning and won't make that mistake again.
Off to Bordeaux (France) tomorrow and that brings and end to our Spanish tour. Have spent a great couple of weeks here and thoroughly enjoyed the culture, beaches and cheap food and drinks. We would definitely love to come back one day.

... and sugar and nutella and banana. They LOVE nutella here its just everywhere we look. We also found a massive chocolate and nougart shop near us where Tom bought himself a big slab of white nougat and i resisted buying a slab of the delicious chocolate! The water was still quite chilly so I only stuck my feet in but Tom had a few very short swims. On our last afternoon we found a lovely bar by the beach and drank pina coladas as we watched the sun go down. We were a little tipsy ...
