Very central hostel with friendly staff. We had a fridge, a sink, a mirror and plenty outlets in our room which was great!

The Ocean Island provided myself and a number of international exchange students a happy place to stay whilst looking for accommodation within Victoria. The hostel was located in an accessible place close to buses in the Downtown area. The staff were friendly and the entertainment such as bands, pub-crawls and quiz nights were satisfactory.

Good hostel to stay at, very central to everything in Victoria. Only $20pn and nice spacious rooms too, there's even a sink and some cupboards in the rooms. The hostel serves hot chocolate, coffee, and a selection of homemade cakes and biscuits throughout the day, and has an excellent cafe on-site. I couldn't fault the hostel, even the wireless was good! I'd definitely stay again if in Victoria.

I can't think of a shanazzy title for this entry

Either I'm tired or nothing pun-full happened today. I took a few solid minutes to try and think of a good title but nothing came to me.
Before I crossed over to the island, I partook in some free yoga at high street mall in Abbotsford. In the mall there is a Steve Nash gym and they were providing free yoga classes every …

I graciously awoke with no hangover this morning. I'm a lightweight and very rarely drink, so I was worried that the rounds of shots that my newfound Canadian friends at the club last night (of whom I can remember none of their names) would have me waking up to a pounding head. Fortunately, I left early, if 1 AM can be considered early as such, and …

I woke up early to catch the first ferry out. Despite setting an alarm for 6 AM and waking up an hour early, unable to go back to sleep, I woke up feeling exceptionally rested. More importantly, I woke up with the rising of the sun. Something about that just feels natural. Our concept of time being based on numbers on a clock is suitable for modern …

Last night I decided to head to Vancouver island! And right now I'm writing this lying on a rock on a beach, with a bright sun and with 2 hours until what I imagine will be a beautiful sunset. Hannah has an American friend over for the weekend so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to do some solo exploring - my favourite kind. I took a cloudy …

Travelling from Kelowna to Victoria took me about 12h by Greyhound, Ferry and Pacific Coach Line and started very early in the morning. The buses in Kelowna weren't even running yet and I met loads of people coming home from Halloween parties, THAT early. To start the day off right I accidentally smashed my head against the cab door on the way to …
