Drive to Christchurch with a boozy evening

A travel blog entry by chris93savory on Jul 08, 2015

This morning before we all leave Lake Tekapo, we are advised to check out the old church, which honestly, despite its beautiful view of the lake is just a church, manned by a slightly grumpy woman who hardly welcomes people in. The journey to Christchurch is a similar distance to yesterday's drive, and just as stunning with awesome views everywhere you look! We hardly pass another living soul on our drive, as besides a few towns, there are hardly any people living ...

Also one of Chelsea's best friends, Becky, is working in Sydney and has a couple of days off when we are there so we are both pretty excited to meet up with them! Thankfully the farm animals were very low maintenance, the cows just needed to remain in their field so counting all two of them and ensuring their self-filling water tank was self-filling was our only responsibility and Porkchop just needed feeding and the odd scratch. The dogs were also pretty low maintenance, although Fred’s obsession with playing ball ...

... have a cruise ship coming in tomorrow with 2,800 people on it, everybody keeps telling us how crazy it is going to be. I can't imagine so many people in the sleepy little seaside village! Also tomorrow is going to be 30+ degrees!! Tonight we went for dinner and the restaurant/bar attached to our hotel. We had a yummy Kumera, bacon and Parmesan soup (yum!!!) followed by a chicken, apricot sauce, cream cheese, capsicum and cashew nut pizza! We seriously need to stop ...
