... into the air. I think the waterfalls have been the most amazing thing this week, we have seen literally hundreds of waterfalls that would previously have been in our top ten of all time. It's not unusual to see four or five in a single view. Not far from here and we visit a place called Geysir, not surprisingly the site of several Geysers and lots of geo thermal activity, overall the geothermal activity is not as impressive as the site we stumbled upon up north but ...

... so this is what was so much fun, we took a zodiac boat tour in a glacier lagoon. First thing we did was get dressed for our boat ride. ... passed through a 6 km long tunnel, we arrive at a fishing village which the French used as a base at the turn of the last century. Even the street signs are translated into French. This is where we spot 3 homes belonging to the hidden people. More Icelandic folklore. Lunch at a small town called Breidalsvik, where we are served substantial portions of chicken, potatoes and salad - Icelanders have a full "dinner" at lunchtime and then a ...

First stop of the day was Skaftafell national park. 3 cars left from the hotel at the same time: us (heading east to Skaftafell), a pair of German army officers on vacation (heading west to Reykjavik) and a pair of american girls (heading to Reykjavik too). Guess which one of the three drove in the wrong direction for about 40min? It was the German army officers! Maybe that's why they didn't invade Iceland during world war 2; they probably ...
