... comments and kind words, you won’t ever know just how much the contact that we have had with you has kept us going. Sometimes just a few words of support, love, updates and chit chatter from home has been enough to keep us smiling for days, to keep your memories alive in our hearts, burning strong and as bright as one of our camp fires of late. We’ve talked about you so much your ears must be burnt and cooked to a cinder by now!

I had an eerie walk my first night in New York when I got lost on the way to the theater, found myself staring at my reflection ( old guy, about 5'11", white hair) in a series of storefront windows with no merchandise, as if the entire street had been abandoned. Joe reported back to us so I went with him and found out there was a bus going to New York at 12:30 and there was a standby line. I went to a Greyhound guy who was organising their buses and asked him whether they were putting on extra buses and he basically said no, so we collected the girls and quickly moved into the Bolt ...

Monday 8th September 2014, day 40 of 50: A little cooler this morning, but still pleasant. Just when we thought we had the trains down pat, we ended up at Brooklyn - were on an express which went straight through the station we wanted to get off at. No problem, we just changed platforms and went back to Spring Street to go to Little Italy which is smaller than ...
