Had 4 nights here. Walked to the Southbank and visited the museum, the artificial beach (which was lovely!) and had some food over here. I dragged Matt to see Les Mis at the cinema :)!
The next day we met our friend from Byron, Michelle, and went to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. The largest Koala Sanctuary. We each held a …
We arrived in to the first city encounter since Cairns at the start of our trip here in Oz... and it was much welcomed that we had all of 50m to walk to drop off our bags at our hostel... Tinbillys.
From here after grabbing some lunch we headed in to the main town so Claire could get some retail therapy in queen street, the main shopping …

Still, I really like Brisbane too, it seems to have all the amenities of a …
We got up and got the hell out of the hostel and booked into another. Kat found a list of stuff to do in Brisbane at the reception and instantly went into organisation mode (think Monica from Friends, only with a little more Nazi-like precision timing).
So off we went on our tour of Brisbane. In usual Ben and Kat style we left the hostel in …

Frankly I liked Tin Billy for the location which is just across the street from Roma station downtown. The staff is awesome, the bar has a good vibe and security is A1. However, we stayed in the 13 bunk beds dorm and it seems to me that the people living with us have been there forever. Their stuff was spread all across the floor of the room, there must have been about 30 bottle of half empty shampoo in the bathroom aside from everyone's bath stuff and it smelled like a dirty alley. I could also mention the yells at 3 am when they were getting back from the bar despite our request to keep it down, but thats just normal backpackers hostel situation early in the morning.
