Guten Tag meine lieben Freunde!

My mum Is now happy In the knowledge that I have no more cool adrenaline-junkie activities planned for my time in New Zealand... If only I had more time, I leave tomorrow :( I think for now it's all out of my system! I spent 2 weeks on the South Island of New Zealand, and I thought parts of the North Island were beautiful (which they are) but the …

After the peace and quiet of Doubtful and Milford Sounds, coming back to Queenstown certainly wakes you up! It was lovely to have a day free there before picking up the Kiwi Experience bus again though, and I also met up with Amanda, a fellow traveller from the North Island. Amanda and I had a relaxing day taking the steamboat over to the other …

The South Island

The ferry journey to the South Island takes 3.5 hours from Wellington and as you come into Picton through the Marlborough Sound the scenery is beautiful. It was a little overcast as we came in, but at least it wasn't raining. I'd had the very kind offer of a place to stay in Picton, which I wasn't about to turn down in a hurry! I'd met Julia and …

Stewart Island

Up and about by 8 today, had a quick breakfast before setting off on a walk toward Lee Bay where we've seen pictures of the famous chain link anchoring the island to NZ mainland. We took the shorter route on the way there over more hills, spotted some random things along the way I.e a long driveway leading up to someone's house consisting entirely …

Free dinner was actually quite nice if you were there on time. The movie room is also nice. It is a bit expensive but it's a great spot in Queenstown

We stayed too nights . room 323 was great . Room 315 was ok with a nice balcony but with a terrible matras. The staff was very nice. They had a good place for our bicycles. Otters guests are all young. The free meals and breakfast were good

We stayed in the self contained ensuite rooms. They are new, clean and big, with shared terraces. Great location right in the centre. Wasn't too noisy as the ensuite rooms are on a separate floor from dorms. They do dinner 5 nights out of 7 in the communal area though we didn't partake, they also do toast & cereal in the mornings. Good staff to help you book all the crazy, fun things in Queenstown.

Awesome hostel, very clean, great beds (though we were in a 3bed private so not sure about dorms). Every amenitiy you could wish for and more, brilliant location and great staff, they're very friendly and helpful!
Only gripe is the size, i generally prefer smaller places, they feel more homely and are easier to meet people.
But would definately recommend and would stay here again if returning to Queenstown!
