New Zealand Adventures
Jess, Matt and I traveled to New Zealand for a few days where we saw most of the city and tried to skydive. The weather however stood between us and skydiving. It rained everyday that we were there.
Great expectations...
Kia ora from New Zealand!
So, I had an email from Kerry (my sister) earlier asking where the blog was, and telling me I was slacking! How rude I thought, but she's right. It has been a while. There is some logic in the delay. though. I thought I would do two blogs from New Zealand; one about the north island and one about the south. I …
My final week of travelling!! :-(
We've had a lovely week in the North Island. It was Laura's birthday on Monday so we decided to go on a wine tour!! It was great fun and we were taught how to drink wine properly, not just "scull it back" as the lady said! Luckily we stopped off for lunch (where we had a massive portion of fish and chips!) otherwise I think we may have all be …
My first Sight of NZ
My arrivial to New Zealand! The flight was long, but the service was great. After leaving the airport, we were off to see the largest city: Auckland. The first thing we did was take a bus tour. On the bus tour of Auckland, we drove past Sir Edmond Hillary's grammar school. (The first man to conquer Mt. Everest) Then we stopped at Mt. Eden and …
Goodbye New Zealand
Time spent in New Zealand was short as we moved our flight forward. Had a little walk around town, spent our last dollars on sushi and that was about it. TravelPod Member ReviewsNomads Auckland Backpackers Hostel
We stayed in this hostel for one night prior to taking the Northern Explorer to Wellington.
Reception staff were friendly and helpful.
We had an en suite room which was very clean and comfortable.
Security was good with access using a card.
Lovely big kitchen on 7th floor and a hot tub on the outside space on 7th floor.
Only downside was the noise from the clubs on the street. Noise went on all night and clubs still going when we left at 8 a.m.
Hostel offers free earpplugs.
Would use this hostel again.

Terrible hostel! Too many people, tiny & smelly rooms, the kitchen is a mess with no space in the fridge and downstairs is a noisy bar. At it's not even THAT cheap. Can't recommend, sorry!
