Cairns
The bus journey to Cairns was rather uneventful. We did manage to watch 3 films but only ¾ of each film, as every time the film would come to its conclusion or there abouts the driver would have had enough of the film skipping by this point and turn off the DVD. To that end we still don’t know what happened at the end of brother where art thou, and wether the **** film about baseball, there team actually won in the final, im guessing they did…!

... have spent at least 2 hours snorkelling and viewing the coral and marine life in clear blue waters. Proudly, I managed to avoid attracting any jellyfish (though I did see a few in the distance) or predatory marine life, though I was slightly startled when a metre-long humphead wrasse approached me from my blind side!! Take a look on Google images for a picture of one. There were ...
Cairns, Queensland, Australia robontour... and I put them up around the garden, along with all the balloons and everything else. We eventually got everything finished in time and at about 6 in the evening we all started getting changed into our outfits, LJ looked pretty freaky dressed as an evil clown and hers was pretty quick to put on. Mine was even easier going as the family butcher, I had to put on an apron and my mask and I was done except for the fake blood that ...
Cairns, Queensland, Australia gaz-lj... into the city we hoped off somewhere and wandered around and bought some supplies from Woolworth's including Nappies for James which was a bit weird. We did a lot of window shopping which we are getting good at and we picked up loads of brochures for different trips to do in the next few days hopefully when the weather picks up, since we've got here its been gorgeous sunshine one minute and then emptying down the next. After that we hopped ...
Cairns, Queensland, Australia gaz-lj... lovely--lots of green areas and no buildings obstructing the water view.
Tomorrow we go for a rain forest adventure near Daintree Forest and Cape Tribulation, so this will probably be the last post until I get home and can put up the pictures. We depart for the US on Sunday.
We have been blessed by good health, good luck, no mishaps, great adventures, and have thoroughly enjoyed the good natured Aussies.
... the snorkelling made it very much worth it however! Was snorkelling with fish that were literally bigger than me and tons of amazing things! I have a few pics for now but the rest will wait as I need to get the pictures off another card.
Starting another tour tomorrow to go see the Rainforests and the jungle stuff, can't wait!
All is well here, hope everything back home is good as well!
wish you were here!

Cairns, Queensland, Australia lorraine11... I'm really glad i did it, as it was an amazing experience but don't think I'll be doing anymore diving in a hurry as found it quite terrifying!!! But we got to see lots of big fish and beautiful coral. We also got to go on a 'Semi Submersible' with a glass bottom which gave us the chance to take some underwater photos which was really cool! We saw a turtle while on the boat! For lunch there was a buffet with the ...
cairns, Queensland, Australia annaobeirne... for the next five weeks. We drove Marilyn to Wonga beach, north of Port Douglas. There, we equipped ourselves at the local supermarket (phone and battery charger, as we don't have electricity) and did our food shopping for the first time in ages. That night, Sean cooked some yummy spaghettis bolognese and we drank two bottles of wine. I was quite drunk when we went to bed. The minivan was a ...
Cairns, Queensland, Australia leprefrog... Natalie with me. We planned to wake up one morning at 7:30 to do our walk. Turns out, we didnt go to bed until 5:00 the night before, was i was determined to do it. Natalies alarm went off and she rushed to get it before I heard it but she was too slow. Up we were. So we made it to the Botanical Gardens after about an hours walk. and it was freaking hot, and so humid that we were immediatley soaking wet once we walked outside. So we made it to the Gardens ...
CAIRNS, Queensland, Australia cabesnoz... an idea of where stuff is at. There are dozens of bars and restaurants to cater to the tourists and a good assortment of places marked with Japanese signage to cater to the many Japanese tourists here. Our hotel, the Coral Tree Inn, sits between two hostels and is equipped with everything you might need, in particular a salt water pool! It's fantastic! We ate at a mediocre restaurant then looked at a few of the souvenir shops then back to the hotel. We bought ...
