6 Beach Road Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, 4217
Our weekend in Surfers revolved mainly around sun and alcohol. The weather was perfect for sunning ourselves and splashing about in the sea, and with a voucher picked up in another hostel we managed to blag 5 bucks each off our room and 40 bucks of booze in the resort bar... RESULT!! We did, of course, find time for a moonlit stroll along the esplanade and to enjoy the fabulously clean sand and crystal clear ocean on Broadbeach where a spot of swimming was definitely the order of the day. The...

... in the centre but did have to share our room with a weird guy from chilli we called Hose when infact his name was Alex!!! Nothing like Hose and we even called it him to his face.... no wonder he checked out and stole kat's i-pod in the process (PIG!) We all decided not to be lonely hearts on Valentines so decided to go for a romantic meal at Nando's (plastic chairs, soft drinks and get your own cutlery!) classy! We did go up in the world though and splashed ...
Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia katandhel... or 4pm in some really big pubs, they get really packed and everyone gets really drunk and dances and sings til late! It was really good craic and we agreed to meet up again in Sydney. The next morning we walked to where we had parked the van with fingers crossed. Luckily there was no ticket on it so we were delighted and got out of there as soon as possible. Neither of us was feeling well but I was a lot better than Lydia so drove us to Surfers Paradise. Our ...
Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia staffyandlyddy... in the middle of the island, where all 49 of us had a walk through a real rainforest. There we saw eels, lizards, lots of bugs and had our eyes open for snakes. Luckily we didn't encounter any. After that, we went to one of the 50 or so lakes on the islands. That was truly a highlight of the day. Laky MacKenzie is out of this world. Surround by green forest, with white sand beaches and light blue calm crystal clear warm waters, we ...
Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia camtonzDay four in Oz and finally it's one of those days that comes into your
mind when you think of Surfers... blue skies and lots of sun and
warmth. Huzzah. Today I don't mind that my body is still waking me up
at 6am. It's well worth it. Everyone should be so lucky to start their
day off by walking along the golden sands and paddling in the water
here. And of course it's all topped off nicely by a chat with the
Lorikeets :)
Yesterday was a grand old ...
Surfers Paradise, well I dunno, I think it's more of a if you're a surfer paradise. Not so much on the oul learnin places. It's also a lot more expensive than other places so we really want to get a surf board now and get at it. It's better if you have a place to stay and know the good places to surf I think. Anyways needless to say there was no surfin to be done. There was plenty other things to do though. The first day we were there we did ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia hugh_mc_manus... holidaying it up! Saturday during the day we strolled around the beach and the center having a look around. I was texting Flynner ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia frawls... entry, free drinks, and about 75 other backpackers to drink with. How can you go wrong? Let me tell you. The free drinks were actually buy one get one free or a thimble with a mixed drink in it. Not going to get you drunk. We ended up spending quite a bit of money. However we managed to get drunk. I don't remember even being in the third bar. Yeah... it was that bad. People dancing everywhere and drinking is all I remember. However, the bars ...
Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia hbomb1I hate to say it but I'm really looking forward to leaving Brisbane after the week I'v just had and will be glad to move onto Perth. I've been working so hard I can't even sleep at night but hopefully in the long run it will be worth it. Last Friday night I went out for a few drinks with Steve, which I don't think his bird was too impressed with as we went out with her. We ended up in a few different bars in Fortitude Valley before ...
Brisbane, Australia bluenoseontour... what a suprise about Owen going down injured and what the hells he doing starting Hargreaves instead of Carrick? I can't beleive how badly they played defensively in the second half and to let an ex scumbag(Allback) score against them shows just how badly they defended. Anyway, at least we've avoided the crouts for the time being. I'm taking it easy today so I can stay in tip top form for my job tommorow and am meeting up with the parents in a bit for another excursion.
