Bulevar kralja Aleksandra 202 Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro, 011-241-2787
... even slow progress means overcoming numerous obstacles and an absence of signage. Today the sun is shining and its looking like a hot one. I'm carrying 4.5 litres of water and the bike handles like a shopping trolley; its hard to maintain one direction and my wrists ache.

Finally over the bridge I look for the road / track. Again its far from clear where it is but there is a dyke so i try that. Then the track emerges just below the dyke so a bit of cross country downhill is ...
Belgrade, Serbia i_could_walk... including all the travel guides I've arranged to have brought out from England! But at least i now have new books for the train trip. This hostel has really cool music but the dorms are quite small and the other rooms seem to appeal to couples. It's thus quite quiet and chilled despite its trendy appeal. notes, visit Zemun but its largely urban chaos with some old narrow streets. chat with french studying serbian girl. find bookshop selling a range of english books.
Belgrade, Serbia i_could_walk... it was probably the dirtiest, most broken down, dilapitated train that either of us had ever been on. Luckily there were some friendly Serbians in our car who had decided to have a party and let us join in. We arrived in venice bright and early and enjoyed a few hours of walking around the canals and old cobblestone streets before the crowds. Around noon we started noticing people walking around dressed in elaborate costumes. We followed ...
Belgrade, Serbia emily_and_marko... designed to rip off tourists (not that Belgrade has anywhere like this) and the only locals you'll see anywhere near them are the waiting staff. 3) In places like Belgrade, tourism isn't a massive industry and thus I am eating what the locals eat. 4) I'm pretty picky about what I eat and aren't going to **** away a load of money just because some tosser says "Goat come on toast" is a traditional Balkan dish. 5) Finally, I'm from North ...
Belgrade, Serbia englishanddrunk... similar architecture, buildings, parks, wide streets, river etc felt like Warsaw's sister. The town was destroyed 40 times in its 2300-year history, very recently too…and that can be felt and still seen.
We visited many beautiful churches, one of them a must-see for visitors is the St Sava Church, the biggest Eastern Orthodox Church.<br ...
Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro ulka... side of CBD to kill time. By the way, I was surprised to see the citizens drink tap water and asked one of them if it was safe to drink. He said "no problem", but the water apparently looked cloudy. So I tried to stop filling the plastic bottle with it, but he insisted it was drinkable and asked for others' agreement as well! Eventually, I stored the water and I could drink it without any problems.
Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro misocutlet... at Niagara Falls which proved the validity of his 'til then theoretical writings. Where the museum comes alive is that following the conclusion of the video you are hosted through a number of interactive exhibits where key concepts are demonstrated by a clearly knowledgable local undergraduate engineering student. Our host was just ecstatic that somebody had come to visit (we were the first guests of the day) and we received what was basically a private tour - which ...
Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro claude_and_iain... were full on slums, stuff you see out of UNICEF and 'Save the Children' commercials. Gabrielle was getting increasingly concerned. Dan was maintaining some hope, looking out the window and seeing a slightly less dodgy looking skyline in the distance ahead of us. When we asked our Serbian compatriot where we were, he said it was 'New Belgrade'. We began to get a bit more panicky at the prospect of what 'Old Belgrade' might look like. As we pulled into the station and walked ...
Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro dangabesisaak... with a big group of his friends. Arandjelovac turned out to be quite a party town, with tons of people out on the street and in the bars. after a couple hours we ended up at a friend's house til late at night. I found out the next morning that the boys were quite impressed with the amount of alcohol i consumed. what can i say, that's what you learn when you go to college in America. We talked about all sorts of ******** and of course the conversation turned to cultural ...
Arandjelovac, Serbia and Montenegro mary_zell... get over it. I never felt one bit of hatred because I am American. In fact, it was quite the opposite. People wanted to work on their English; they wanted to tell me about their trips to the U.S. It was amazing. That evening I boarded an 8 hour long bus with two Aussies I had met at the hostel. I had just been handed my next clue and it directed me to Sarajevo. I'm sorry this one is a bit boring; I think it may be time for me to take a nap!
