Now, not sure if I said this before and it's just an observation but New Zealanders are weird. They call flip flops "jandals" and they are genuinely nice. It unnerves me. Day 1 of our South Island trip, we caught a plane from Auckland to Christchurch. Cheap as chips seeing as it would cost way more to bus from Auckland to Wellington, get a really expensive ferry across to Picton and get another bus down to Christchurch. Made it to Christchurch from Sydney, it was a 3 hour flight. Turned out its actually nice and sunny here, but very very cold. Back on the road again and mad for touring after 3/4 months in the city Myself, Griff, Gray, Fitzy and Tommy Flew from Melbourne to Christchurch. The flight was around 3 hours no turbulance so no fear... Tue 12th continued... Strange nasially bloke "James I presume, not rocket science is it", right...what?? No bunks here, 4 single beds which made a nice change. We went n got money then made dinner - creamy chicken n mushroom sauce with chicken, onions, pasta n garlic bread. Well done boyz. ... in the North Island are beautiful. The South Island also has some wonderful aspects including the glaciers and lots of activities (not just extreme ones). Really need a bigger budget and a lot more time to see and do everything New Zealand has to offer. We would just like to say a huge thank you to New Zealand for having an abundance of public toilets (all with toilet roll) where we have brushed our teeth and washed our sweaty armpits and dirty feet on many occasions. x x x
