Bright Lights, Big City

A travel blog entry by sashadasha

Hello from Hong Kong,

They say New York is the "city that never sleeps." Hong Kong is definitely the Asian version of New York; with the flashing neon signs and plus or minus a few hundred Japanese tourists. After an amazing race to make it to Phuket airport from an island in Krabi, we had a few hours to catch up on some zzzzz's. We …

Giddy in Hong Kong

HK for Yan is associated with long, boring summer holidays as a child; of seeing ump-teen relatives and them attempting to force feed you as if there was nothing to eat back in the UK. For Asif though, HK was perceived a hip eastern city and a place he longed to come. It is after all the most condensed place on earth, a city where East meets West. …

We stayed in the Angel Guesthouse in the mansions and had to pay a service charge of $20 to get the room cleaned everyday but they never did. Service is terrible nobody there except the guy who ripped us off. When we wanted to extend our stay we had to leave a note to meet at 6pm. instead we were woken up at 1pm with some asshole asking for money. There are better guesthouses there.
