The Chung King Mansion, also referred to as "Chungking Mansions," is a great place to stay for travelers heading to Hong Kong on a budget. Guests find themselves housed in one of about 80 rooms in the center of Hong Kong. The location is excellent for visitors who want to be in the center of the city, but the rooms themselves are on the smaller side.
The rooms in the Chung King Mansion are divided into five blocks designated by letter. The proprietors describe certain blocks as quieter than others, though there's little else to distinguish one area of the building from another. Guests generally rate the accommodations as average for overall cleanliness. Rooms are compact and offer minimal amenities. Many reviewers express confusion with the elevators, which are slow to arrive and service only odd or even floors, so be sure to ask a staff member to clarify before jumping on one.
Visitors who plan to take advantage of these low-cost accommodations should make clear arrangements prior to their visit, and avoid extending their stay at the last minute to streamline check-in and check-out. Vistors traveling to Hong Kong looking for simple and cheap hostels will find the basics here for an unbeatable price.

We stayed in the Angel Guesthouse in the mansions and had to pay a service charge of $20 to get the room cleaned everyday but they never did. Service is terrible nobody there except the guy who ripped us off. When we wanted to extend our stay we had to leave a note to meet at 6pm. instead we were woken up at 1pm with some asshole asking for money. There are better guesthouses there.
