... to sell to the passengers. One chap set up his stool and proceeded to entertain us with his squeezebox. He was pretty good really, and had a bit of a funny act as many of the passengers were in fits. They tipped him accordingly. One chap sold Bible verses, another biscuits and cakes, yet another sold magnifying glasses, and a young lady peddled bracelets. Several beggars also came through. It made the trip quite entertaining.
Buenos Aires, Argentina jennykelly... take me to Buenos Aires, Argentina - my home for the next month. The first leg of the flight was fine, but it was when i got to SP that all the fun started... So I was told at Heathrow that my bags couldnīt be checked through all the way to BA because I was changing airlines, so Iīd have to go through immigration to pick them up and then check into the SP to BA flight from Brazil. Flight Centre had very helpfully told me that I wouldn ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina becmartin... X two walls per corridor)! Needless to say, I was very disappointed. Until, I accidentally bumped into people in the hostel that were going to a tour organized by guides advertized by the hostel. I asked if I could join and they said sure. And thank god I did! By then I had spent ten days in BA with a trickle of information about this country's history. The guides were marvelous! http://www ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina sinbadniz... seating around a central plaza, just a really good atmosphere. After spending 10 lovely relaxing days in BA we decided it was time for a wee change and booked the ferry to Uruguay (but we may pass back through BA, somebody wants to try and get tickets to the Argentina - Venezuela game in March, wonder who?). Hadnīt originally planned on visiting Uruguay but its so easy to get to over the Rio del Plata by boat we thought, why not? Uruguay here we come......

Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina journeyer... in the streets. Bizarrely, while at the central square market we bumped into Shirley who was the first person we met on our travels when we sat with her on the flight to America! Once again a reminder of just how small the world really is! We all went for a drink and then arranged to have dinner later in the week to catch up properly. From here we walked to Puerto Madero which is a fairly new and smart development by the Port. It is a really beautiful area with a few nice ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina edandali... the stadium tour.
Just after we took our seats the team on the pitch started to lay out the advertising, and a couple of huge plastic tunnels which the teams would walk down.

We had ice cream on the way back to the Metro station - very nice! We then went to have a look around Puerto Madero, the revamped dock area but by this time it was windy, cold and raining so we made our way back to our hotel.

Before setting out for Argentina we had 2 set plans. 1) Study Spanish 2) Relax and drink plenty of vino. We committed ourselves for 2 weeks to a full Spanish immersion school in the heart of Buenos Aries. Every morning we attend class for 3-4 hrs and each afternoon we study and use our Spanish on the streets. The city itself is huge and holds close to 13 Million people. It is divided into multiple ...
