      Bounty island

After an extremely choppy boat ride for two hours we arrive on bounty island, with the grey clouds above us and the place looking deserted. It's funny, we've actually not heard one person mention this place but here we are. The sand is just full of washed up seaweed and shells, and the place looks a little dated. I hate barefoot island for setting our standard so high, but for £5 for a bed for the night we can't complain. We are in a 20 bed dorm .. But with no one else to ...

Overall the trip the past week has defiantly been a magnificent experience from ...

After 8 days in the paradise of Fiji we can say we got a little taster of what real Fiji life is!

Cracking coconuts - The locals live on local produce like locally grown fruits and vegetables. You see all sorts of fruit trees, banana’s, papaya (our favourite!), lemon and lime, mango and coconut. We now know they have different type of coconuts and we learned how to peel them and crack them open so ...

... that little rant over, it must be said Fiji is a truly marvellous place, with the most friendly and accommodating people either of us have ever met. As is custom we were greeted onto the island by a group of instrument playing locals who took our bags and led us to our delicious lunch of fresh chicken, potatoes and vegetables. The rest of the day was occupied by a well deserved nap and dinner with the rest of the travellers on the island whilst watching the rugby on ...
