... how Fiji once was. Several houses were being rebuilt when we visited and I observed first hand this process. The villagers were friendly and the trip was worth the drive. This is a must. Don't be afraid to hire a car and do it yourself you won't regret it.

Once we'd dried off and warmed up we returned to the boat and five minutes later were decanted on to a Bili Bili raft a.k.a. HMS No Come Back, or less cryptically a bamboo raft. had a lovely breakfast of fruit and yoghurt AND eggs benedict.
Jumped on the Bula Bus and headed to The Port.. Some nice shops there.... Picked up my Hard Rock Cafe pin.... Stopped and had a Fiji beer and bumped into Larry, a man from work!
then we jumped on the Westbus and headed to Nadi. Jan isn't coping too well with the heat, so walking ...

Left the beautiful house where Kate and Brett live, saying our goodbyes we drove to the airport to drop off the Thirsty Turban. Boarded the plane, delayed by half an hour as some paperwork wasn't ready... Landed in tropical Fiji three hours later. Having to queue for over an hour to pass through customs, got chatting to a couple of older New Zealanders helping to past time. Made it through eventually, where we stocked up on duty free alcohol passing out of the ...
