    2pm - Currently we are driving south along the East coast of South Island through consistently beautiful countryside.

    We hove to at Kiakora for morning cofee. It is a small place with a big name. Only 4,000 inhabitants and not much to see, except lots of nature.

    The weather is beautiful this morning. Hoping it stays so for just a few more hours, I rush to get ready and head up Avalanche Peak.     This morning I grab a banana and necessary muffin and jump on the mini-bus to Arthur's pass. The driver is a friendly guy who gives some interesting facts about the beautiful scenery unfolding around us.
