Today we visited Chateau Chillon , a 12th century castle. It has been restored to an amazing level. Think Larnach Castle x 5. It was huge and the highest tower equivalent to a modern seven storey house ! It was amazing, great insight into medieval life. ... spectacular! Fresh snow a skiers delight! We detoured to the Nestle chocolate factory tour in the town of Broc then popped into Gruyere to watch some cheese making then next stop Gstaad A very upmarket ski resort/ town. Very much aimed at the rich and famous !. Fur coats worn by the beautiful people with their designer sunglasses and designer dogs on a leash ! Quite entertaining! ... an amazing toy shop, a local supermarket , the botanical Gardens and a visit to the United Nations Headquarters. it was closed for the weekend but had a lively demonstration happening outside by a large group of Syrians , chanting their disgust with what's happening in their homeland! For a big city it was very quiet, not a lot of traffic or people ...

... and felt a bit like the 'Monarco' of Switzerland. It has very plush hotels, mansions, Casinos and lots of glitzy, expensive shops. Also a beautiful walkway along the lake.

We then went to Chillon Castle which was an awesome experience. It was almost like walking through the set of 'Game of Thrones', with its old cobblestone streets, fortress walls, large old bedrooms with fireplaces, servants quarters, grand halls ...
