Got the boat from Uruguay to BA. Spent over two weeks here. Had a great time. Plenty partying. Went to a Boca Juniors game. Far better than the game in Rio. Unreal atmosphere. Did a week's Spanish course. Stayed in the Clan and Milhouse. Parted company with the English boys but were re-united with Andy and Dave from Floripa. Saw the sights. Weather not great. Flying to Ushuaia today.
Buenos Aires, Argentina 0234303So we arrived in Buenos Aires after a 17 hour bus journey during which we were given some digusting catfood type sausage think with an egg in the middle and ice cold red wine and were sat next to the air conditioner unit and the toilet so we couldn´t hear the films and it stank. Got off the bus and managed to navigate our way to the Subte on which we met an Aussie guy called Dingo who ended up checking into the Milhouse with us. The Milhouse was not what we expected after a few people had rai...
Buenos Aires, Argentina 2taylors Well here goes... the start of my blog. I must admit I´m actually writing this from Santiago in Chile in September. As you probably all know, it sometimes takes me time to get round to these things...
After a mainly uneventful flight, which started with non functioning air con and the disappointing announcement that all the cabin crew in my area were blokes, and finished with me in a minor panic about whether I would be detained in quarantine because I disclosed I had a cough on my imi...
Touchdown! we in BA baby - just in time for a Saturday night! We tried to get a bus to the hostel from the airport but trying to ask the grumpiest bus driver in the WORLD, how much we pay, where we get off etc, we jumped off and grabbed a cab with the grumpiest cab driver in the world (is every transport official in BA grumpy?). So, he pulls up on the dingy street saying here we are and we´re looking at it like... wha´?? But turns out we were there. the hostel was this tiny door that opened i...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina ainekerriganI arrived in Buenos Aires with the intention of learning spanish, and within 5 hours of arriving I was in a classroom conjugating verbs. I got off my overnight bus from Mendoza and got the Subte to Avenida de Mayo in the heart of the city, there seemed to be a good smattering of hostels and this area, and not having booked anything I guessed that one would be able to house me for a night or to. Exiting the Subte it started raining so I headed to the nearest hostel in my LP, which was Millhous...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina benihnioThe last few days in BA are a bit of a blur to say the least. Buenos Aires is a HUGE city, 8 lanes of traffic are common place throughout the city centre and crossing the road is an achievment in itself! The nightlife doesn't even begin until around 12am and finishes at about 6am at the earliest. The hostel I have been staying in (The Millhouse), fully embraces this fact meaning that its pretty much a constant party at anytime of the day! This has lead to some very good nights out in BA. I we...
Buenos Aires, Argentina benmOk, well I've made it to South America. It's early evening of my 3rd day here and it has been absolutely fantastic thus far. The fun all started on the flight over here to Buenos Aires. I was fortunate to be seated next to a two Brazilians, one guy and girl who were both returning home after working in Australia for 7 months. Initially, before the flight, I thought I would maybe catch one movie and sleep the rest of the journey to avoid jet lag but it turned out I was to get none of that wit...
Buenos Aires, Argentina big_kahunaAfter traveling through Peru and Bolivia, Chile and Argentina was a welcome break from third world living. After arriving in San Pedro Atacama I found out that there were no Buses to Argentina for a few days, so I flew to Buenos Aires the next day from Calama. B.A. Finally! I had heard such great things about B.A, and I had planned to make B.A. a place to chill out for a few weeks before I fly to my next continent. My first night in B.A. was a Thursday and I headed out of the hostel around mi...
Buenos aires, Argentina bjacobs77Flew to Buenos Aires on a shockingly early flight on Thursday morning. The airport in Salta was like a ghost town, a far cry from what we´re used to at home. Taxi to our hostel on arrival took an age though, the feast of the Assumption was the next day and it´s a day off here so traffic was crazy before the long weekend. Eventually we snaked our way through to our hostel, the Millhouse, in the centre of town. The Millhouse has a reputation for being the ´party´ place to stay here and as we we...
Buenos Aires, Argentina boscoPaddy´s day was a blast and sure being in Buenos Aires beats watching the club finals and then trying to find a pub in the city without skangers in replica Celtic jerseys or teenagers puking in the streets. So being the organised feckers that we are Pauds and myself decided that a 2 hour photo scavenger hunt would be the best way to spend a sweltering hot Paddy´s day in BA. We roped in 20 unsuspecting souls and sent them off out on the streets. They had to take 50 photos of the most random **...
