Nice, clean, and very centrally located. Beds are very hard but otherwise it was in a great spot with clean utilities. Lots of stairs for people who may find that difficult.

Great, clean rooms in the central historical area. Free computer and internet use, good laundry service, helpful staff, free breakfasts.
Not a lot of character but a nice place to stay in the city. Would definitely stay here again. Also close to metro station and many restaurants/bars.

After a greyhound, 2 flights and 2 countries later we finally made it to Mexico City, albeit 130am. It was a very long journey from Banff to Mexico City and due to the time of day we couldn't be sure if it was all worth it. It would have to wait until the following morning. Nevertheless we were excited to finally be in Mexico! We chose to stay at …

Day 1: the bus ride was 6 hours from Oaxaca and it went by pretty fast. The driver only stopped twice on this journey. We arrive around 4.15pm in the TAPO bus station and decide to follow the hostel's directions using the subway.

It was fairly easy since the bus terminal is connected to the subway. We pay 10 pesos for our 2 tickets and get …

... the Temple of Quetzalcoatl which is flanked by two huge complexes of rooms. The best section is the fašade of an earlier temple which was found during investigations and is now exposed. The four surviving steps of this pyramid are adorned with carvings and either side are panels showing a serpent god and a four-eyed, two fanged fire serpent. From here we walked along the avenue and the next stop was at the site of the superimposed terrace, they have good names! This again ...
