This is a good facility in the central of Melbourne with 24 hour reception and sufficient double rooms for a high price.

This place is handy to Southern Cross station. If you're too lazy to walk then just take the 75 tram from out the front of the hostel. It will drop you off near the supermarket Coles as well which is handy. Hostel is close to river and everything so no need to extensively walk too far. If you don't like walking, then trams at your doorstep.

Nice and clean. Stayed in a four bed dorm which was fine and people friendly. Just stayed for one night but wished it had been longer1

The day after my break started Danny and I took off for Australia. Our first stop was Melbourne where we would stay for two nights out of our week trip. Melbourne is a pretty unique place with the busy/hipster vibe of Seattle mixed with the charming atmosphere of small time cities in Western Europe. Within minutes of walking we were able to go from …

From Apollo Bay we drove to Bells beach that's where Qicksilver and Rip Curl were founded. It's where surfers all over the world compete with each other. Unfortunately it was a rainy day but we still stopped and watched the surfers for a while and we had to say they were a lot better than the hobby surfers on the east coast. That was our finale …

So the internet and I had a little discussion unfortunately the internet won cause I actually wrote two other entries but apparently there aren't on the page. I'll try to recap what I've written in the other two entries now.

So our last day in Melbourne we spent shopping and just wandering down the streets for about four hours. After that …

I arrived in the city of 'four seasons in one day' (in the only country on earth that eats its own national emblem) at 12:10p.m...very spaced out.

I walked through duty free and thought about buying some booze. A nice Aussie lady convinced me. "They'll love it", she said. Ok then, so to get into the spirit(s) of Australia I bought a li...

After an eventful week in the world of Claire, I've decided my time in Melbourne may be coming to an end - for now. I fell ill a couple of weeks ago and have had some trouble shaking it off; a visit to the doctors and a hefty medical bill later, I discover I have low iron levels, low vitamin D levels AND sinusitis to top it all off. Joyful.
