48 hours in London...
This morning I left Malmö, Sweden, for Copenhagen Airport, Denmark. Months of planning and waiting were finally over. I was going to see London for the first time, not just passing thru or transfer at the airport. The flight from Copenhagen to Heathrow took about an hour and a half and from the airport I had to take the Heathrow Express to …
Grace Kelly, Crown Jewels, F&T museum
The Meininger Hostel charged for their breakfast, so I elected not to eat with the young people and went to the South Kensington tube stop - they had a couple breakfast places and more importantly a Starbucks!
I was up way too early because you just can't get any sleep in a 12-bed room. If it's not snoring or cell phones going off, it's …
Windsor, Eton College, Nat'l Portrait Gallery
Up early again, I caught an 8:30 am. train to Windsor. I waited in what was maybe the longest line of the whole trip. There were tons of tour groups and annoying as ever... or maybe it was just me and my sore, swollen feet.

Westminster mass, Tate, V&A, Indian food
Today was my last day in London and my last full day of my 14 week adventure. I was not going to miss a thing! I had a raisin croissant with my usual latte and went to mass at Westminster. For those of you wanting to see London, Sundays at Westminster are only for services - no tours. There were a lot of disappointed people, but I wasn't one of …
Roaming London's streets
I left Manchester late in the morning for London on a speedy Virgin train. I had a reservation in a quiet coach - these are cars that specifically say no cell phone use. My coach was about half full and there was a guy chatting it up for awhile with someone. The lady behind him asked him to please go out into the boarding area if he was going to …

Great Hostel. Clean and Comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. We didn't get to have tea and cakes but the muffins sold at the snack bar of the hostel were fantastic! Luggage storage provided if you do not plan on departing right away in the morning. Breakfast was simple but filling. 4 stars!
