Dunedin just in time to grab a snack and head down to the Speight's Brewery for a guided tour and tasting... the tour was probably one of the most boring tour I have ever been on (too much of "we are the best.. bla bla bla.. and not enoug hof the actual beer making process) I have to admit but the beer tasted nice! oh well.... From Dunedin we head back to Queenstown again.... where I may well do a bungee ...

We left the we(s)t coast and after a short stop at Queenstown and an overnight sleep next to a hydroelectric dam we finally made it to the east coast. Much more sunshine and mild weather. Our first stop was Otago peninsula, to have a look at the unique birds it hosts. ... with a walk along Sandfly Bay and saw more Seals and a Sea Lion, and no Sandflies. We are not entirely sure that it was a Sea Lion, we don't know the difference, but it was much larger than the Seals, leading to our conclusion. Next was a drive into Dunedin. ... sadly that there was still no-one on the beach to show off my rock mounting prowess to, when all of a sudden, the wind started. And I do mean all of a sudden - one minute it was just the usual beachy breeze, then it was like someone flicked a switch and it was gale force. At first I was very taken with the effect the wind had on the bigger waves further out - even as they tried to come in, the wind was blowing them back, resulting in a pretty spray of, er ...

... forest. Neither could we take, as the water was high. We could have taken our shoes off. We could have kept our shoes on and just got on with it and had an adventure. We didn't though. I don't know why when I come to think of it now. I don't think we had a deadline to be in Dunedin. I don't think the routes were particularly dangerous.
