... our way around the beasts, with no trouble other than a few threatening waddles, down to the end of the beach and were lucky enough to see 4 penguins. Later Thursday night, went a Korean restaurant and to the Jazz Bar to see the Calder Prescott quartet, who have been playing together for 50 years and are well-known in Dunedin.
This morning went to the outdoor food market. This afternoon my beloved Toroa had a carnival with ...
... Dunedin just in time to grab a snack and head down to the Speight's Brewery for a guided tour and tasting... the tour was probably one of the most boring tour I have ever been on (too much of "we are the best.. bla bla bla.. and not enoug hof the actual beer making process) I have to admit but the beer tasted nice! oh well.... From Dunedin we head back to Queenstown again.... where I may well do a bungee ...

Not that we're complaining... In the evening, a family staying at the camp were having a BBQ and invited us to join them. After some delicious burgers, we ended up down at the pigpen, feeding the pigs, Spring and Blossom, and the piglets (who remain untitled as they are due to be made into sausages and / or bacon) the leftovers before it ...
Dunedin, South Island, New Zealand rachandstuWe left the we(s)t coast and after a short stop at Queenstown and an overnight sleep next to a hydroelectric dam we finally made it to the east coast. Much more sunshine and mild weather. Our first stop was Otago peninsula, to have a look at the unique birds it hosts. We first visited the Royal Albatros Centre and were lucky enough to see the albatross taking advantage of the nice wind and taking off and cruise over the peninsula. We also learned many ...
Dunedin, South Island, New Zealand camtonz... with a walk along Sandfly Bay and saw more Seals and a Sea Lion, and no Sandflies. We are not entirely sure that it was a Sea Lion, we don't know the difference, but it was much larger than the Seals, leading to our conclusion. Next was a drive into Dunedin. Here we went to the Otago Museum, a really well set out place, then moved on to Baldwin Street. They say that this is the steepest residential street in the world, and it really could have been ...
Dunedin, South Island, New Zealand nick.maynard... sadly that there was still no-one on the beach to show off my rock mounting prowess to, when all of a sudden, the wind started. And I do mean all of a sudden - one minute it was just the usual beachy breeze, then it was like someone flicked a switch and it was gale force. At first I was very taken with the effect the wind had on the bigger waves further out - even as they tried to come in, the wind was blowing them back, resulting in a pretty spray of, er ...
Dunedin, South Island, New Zealand suzloua... forest. Neither could we take, as the water was high. We could have taken our shoes off. We could have kept our shoes on and just got on with it and had an adventure. We didn't though. I don't know why when I come to think of it now. I don't think we had a deadline to be in Dunedin. I don't think the routes were particularly dangerous. But we both just thought, "we'll come back and explore it properly another day". Because we know, we will be back. To New Zealand. It ...
Og her er fa'me opvarmet, sweet...! Vi skrives ved. Håber alle har fundet ud af at modtage en e-mail når jeg har lavet en opdatering - og ikke synes at det er alt for besværligt at skulle oprette en profil her på siden... Ciao!
Dunedin, New Zealand slumber... back on the stray bus and heading south to Milford Sound. I had been hoping to go diving there, as the run off from the rain makes the water darker, allowing deep sea life to live nearer the surface, including things you can never normally see withing recreational diving limits. Sadly it was closed for the winter and I ended up on a boat full of tourists in the pouring rain! Milford is definitely very pretty but I didn't really feel it had the wow factor I ...
Dunedin, South Island, New Zealand beka... Carisbrook since 1908, the most recent defeat coming at the hands of the Wallabies last year. With such an imposing record like that it’s little wonder the ground has attracted the nickname ‘The House of Pain’. And in an age when new and redeveloped sports stadiums around the world all seem to be of similar sterile designs and have improved facilities and spectator comfort at the expense of atmosphere, from what I could see the ground had maintained a ...
