... the touristy thing to do in Killarney don't you know! We trotted past the race track, which was built on landfill and has a 9 hole golf course in the middle!. We stopped at Ross castle, the scene of many a wedding photo as we found - at least 4 weddings stopped by while we were there!
So tonight is the last supper with the tour group. Dinner with everyone then out for drinks - just for something out of the ordinary!

Back onto the (new) bus - we picked up some new travellers today, some canadians, an indian and some hawiaan americans. Not too sure what they thought of us all at the start, but i'm pretty sure everyone has bonded now (karaoke is about to start in the pub next door, so everyone is well full!).
We then crossed the river Shannon from county clara into county kerry - which is just spectacular green rolling hills, along the ...
... coming through, and a rainbow. It is the wierdest weather. How do people live in this fulltime. Back home when it rains we all feel like it gives us a good excuse to lay in bed all day and be lazy...imagine the lives we would live if we were fulltime residents in Ireland.
This trip is going to be a huge test for us girls...thereis going to be some serious trials and tribulations that we're going to come across and it'll be ...
... the shores of the bay and ate our rapidly melting cones. Mind and body restored, we got back on the road. While driving the Caha Pass, we stopped to take a picture of the view and met a man from County Cork and his wife. That’s when I noticed the hubcap was missing, and the Corkman said they use tie-wraps to keep theirs on their cars. He then went to his car and gave John four tie-wraps to use and wished us safe journey. We have already met so many nice people ...
Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland rovingwerners... it actually was the correct place! We decided not to go back because there were other thatched roof houses that we had already seen and we didn't really think that place looked like a good place to stop anyways.
We next came to a small town that had signs to a little castle off the main route. We decided to check it out. The ruins of the castle were out in the middle of nowhere, and it was just that- ruins. It wasn't a ...
... I was initially planning the trip, but it turned out to be the best stop on our entire trip! The road to Mizen Head was a narrow, paved country road that could fit about a car and a half. Whenever someone was approaching, one car had to pull over so the other could get by. I thought this was strange to have such a narrow road on what seemed to be a pretty popular tourist attraction. Mizen Head is a lighthouse located on the cliffs on ...

Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland adri204... road home seemed a lot more sinuous that it was on the way there. Day 15 - Ring of Kerry We signed up to go on the "Ring of Kerry" bus trip which is a bus tour around the middle peninsula on the western side of the island. The whole bus trip is about 100 miles and took us 6 hours with stops for pictures and lunch. The Tour was perfect for people who enjoy scenery and after seeing the southwest of the Island I have to say that I would most definately go back. The first ...
Killarney, Ireland tbassplayer... specifically the Dunloe Gap area. The drivers were a brother and sister team who lived on a farm/cattle ranch in the area. Our ride went up to the top of the mountains and down to the lake along the Gap of Dunloe. Very pretty scenery and interesting conversation. We ended at one of the lakes where we picked up a motor boat for a trip along the lakes of ...
Killarney, Ireland travlinjohn... at the Ross castle (which wasnt open.. oh well) which was perched on the edge of the lake. Needless to say i slept well that night. The morning of the 21st I got up early for some more fun with kilometers. This trek was quite the walk. It took me about 1.5 hours walking out of the town just to get to this other national park (actually part of the same one I was in yesterday). This walk was lovely and it took me quite ...
