    ... the owner had gone for lunch without leaving any explanation with the doddery senhora, who suggested I wait 10 mins. Did and still no joy so abandoned hope & explored other options – many full and all hideously overpriced!

    ... and traffic jams at the jetty with massive party boats with people yahooing and bobbing about on the boats. Was interesting to watch the skills of the pilots manoeuvring between each other in the choppy sea. Back to our hotel by 5.30 thoroughly wet, wind blown, and suntanned for showers etc. An amazing day at an an amazing place with thoroughly nice people.     ... spotting vividly coloured purple, blue and yellow butterflies and listening to monkeys chatter in the tree’s overhead. When we arrived at the waterfall we were really ready to cool off and take a dip. The water was pretty cold but it was nice and refreshing after the hike. The walk back was much easier with the majority being downhill. That night we were on our way out for dinner and a serious incident occurred involving a western tourist (Chris) and a canine. ...
