A big hostel with a lot to offer. Do expect spiders and gekkos in your room as it is in the middle of the rainforest

This back packers is great for a younger and an older crowd, because they have a nice bar and live bands every night, but they also have a night club once it gets late. It's a beautiful, tropical resort with clean dorm rooms with a bathroom in each dorm. If you're looking for something inexpensive, and you don't mind staying in a room with strangers, then definitely go to Magnums. They also have free wifi and free arrangements to hold onto valuable items, such as passports and computers, if you don't want to keep them in your room.

Centrally located in Airlie Beach, great price for a private double room. This place is party central, with its own bar and casino. Expect to be noisy and drunk people everywhere, and don't expect the front desk to care if you want some help, cause no one will be around at night.

    The last Aussie adventure

A travel blog entry by joecatriona on Jul 07, 2015

So finished up work, packed up our apartment and sent our excess home. Said our goodbyes to great friends. Ready to start the next chapter in our lives but first we need to complete our Aussie travels. Whitsundays first up. Landed at Hamilton on Tuesday morning and chilled out for a few hours while we waited for our ferry to Airlie beach. Really …

Swimming in crystal clear freshwater lakes, racing 4WD's down the beach, sailing the Whitsundays on a private ship and snorkelling with over 40 different species of fish. The lifestyle we have been occupying whilst exploring Fraser Island and the Whitsundays. It was nearly as perfect as it seems excusing the overnight camping on a sand island (sand …

    Blogging and buses

A travel blog entry by steffielou on Aug 18, 2014

Still waking up at the crack of dawn, I think it's going to take me a while before I can enjoy a proper lie in!
Treat myself to a sausage sandwich with BBQ sauce just so that I didn't have to carry them later on when I left to catch the bus!
I spent most of the morning hobbling around due to the two giant and very sore blisters I then had …
