... where 100's of people were waiting. An extremely efficient system meant that we weren't waiting in line for long, as the taxi's were shuttled through the tunnel very quickly. Our taxi driver dropped us off, unfortunately at the wrong gates, so we had a bit of a walk. This wouldn't have been a problem if we hadn't had so much luggage. Hangzhou – very beautiful but too popular

Besides the beautiful area around the West Lake, Hangzhou surely has some “normal Chinese city quarters” with office skyscrapers and huge apartment blocks to host the majority of the more than six million inhabitants.
All-in-all our visit to Hangzhou has been nice and relaxing. It was a worthwhile stop, although I experienced it be not Chinese but rather like an artificial relaxation-park.
