    We arrived in Saigon two days after the anniversary marking 40 years since the end of the American War. We'd arranged for a car to pick us up from the airport so it was easy to avoid all of the taxi companies touting for business and just walk to our car. The air conditioning was very welcome as it was hot and humid, around 36 degrees, a lot warmer than when we had left Singapore a few hours earlier that morning.
