A man, a plan, a canal: panama
Here we are in panama city and we're broken up a bit as we sort ourselves out to sell betsy. it's like selling our dog and it's the hardest thing we've had to do so far on this journey. we had a really hard time making the decision, but decided in the end it had to be done: it's time. Panama city has some really beautiful places, and some really …
Show me the boat...
there were only two reasons i wanted to come to panama city... to check out the panama canal (which has an incredible history... it´s too long for me to recount here, but basically panama was a part of colombia, then the US decided it wanted to build a canal thru panama, but colombia was proving a bit difficult to deal with for the yanks, so one …
In search of a sailboat to Colombia...
We got to Panama City in search of a sailboat to Colombia. After trying to research boats for over a month on the road, we heard, and figured it would be easiest in the Capital, where a lot is going on...
We found our skipper as we entered our hostel, and he talked us into the trip. Only problem was we had to wait about a week for the boat …
CONFETTI, HOSES & ISLAND PARADISES
I arrive into Panama City, a little apprehensive, but manage to get myself from the airport to my hostel with some Spanish and no hassles. Once at the hostel I try to find out some info on the Carnival but it is all a bit vague. Not a good sign! I even try to ask a taxi driver in Spanish if he knew where the Carnival was and what time the parades …

TravelPod Member ReviewsLuna's Castle Hostel Panama City
Luna's Castle was probably one of the loudest and busiest we've been to. It is a beautiful old building right in the heart of Casco Viejo, Panama City, with some really charming architecture and vibes. There is a bar on the bottom floor of Luna's Castle, that plays some very loud music til pretty late at night, that was the main downside, but all in all, it was worth visiting.

This hostel is located in the beautiful colonial Cosco Viejo neighborhood. The place is huge, with great balconies having amazing views of the water and downtown Panama City. They people working here are great and very knowledgable, and they have a great pancake/banana breakfast. Also the Relic bar located on the bottom level has a great vibe and a great happy hour with good deals. I highly recommend staying here if visiting Panama City.

Great place to meet people and have fun. Service is good, and the staff was very helpful.
Not so great if sleep, privacy and silence is important for you.

Very crowded, so if you don't like to share a space with a lot of people this might not be your place.
