Cusco was the capital of the Inca Empire from about 1200 AD till 1532 AD when it was conquered by the Spanish. It is believed that the city was planned to be shaped like a puma. ... for alot of the main sites and the sacred valley, its expensive but i think it saves money in the long run.
The ticket also allows you to see a cultural show in the evening which we went to. Parul loved this and we even started talking to some local kids in front.The show is about the different types of dances in Peru and the times at which they are used. The best part of it for me was the live band in the back of the stage..... brilliant.

And then from Arequipa I arrived in Cusco about 3 weeks ago. I am doing volunteer work at the Q´ewar Project, an amazing social project which skills local women to make Waldorf Dolls.

I have no more time left on the computer so I am going to have to sign off now, hope this gives a flavour of what I have been up to, Peru continues to amaze, enthuse and challenge me on a daily basis. I will never forget my time here!
