... Jungfrau. Jungfrau is the name of the biggest mountain that overlooks Interlaken. Oddly, the Victoria Jungfrau has a Hooters in front of it. Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland
... of the mountains around us and a thick layer of snow on everything. We spent this day travelling up the 'Top of Europe' with amazing views.. That unfortunately we were unable to see because of the weather.. All well, we got to go into an ice palace and the views on the way back made up for it. Water, water everywhere
... for a while. It’s a cute little town, with Europe’s first “honesty shop.” It’s completely unattended; they trust you to put your money in an envelope and then in a box. It seems to work. Our room has a view of the Allmendhubelbahn, which I hope to take tomorrow or the next day. We had dinner as a group in the hotel. We started with fondue (yum!) and then had a variety of salads (couscous, kidney beans in sauce, etc.). Scenic Train Ride
... Lucerene turned into a frenzied departure of the city, So much for stopping and smelling the roses. The train ride took us through gorgeous country. We have both seen photos of the Swiss countryside, but none did justice to the beauty and lushness of the country. From Interlaken we continued on to Lauterbrunnen where we took the cable to Grutschalp. From there we transferred to a cog wheel train to continue our ascent to Murren at an altitude of 5,400 feet.
