On our first day in Switzerland we headed up the mountain by cable car and then train to a little rustic mountain town called Murren. Murren is a car-free village and is Murren is the highest continually inhabited town in the area and is 1,650 m (5,413 ft.) high. Lots of hotels and restaurants and great views. In Murren, we caught another cable car to the Schilthorn/Piz Gloria ...

They then took a trail to the edge of the cliff, geared up and took off flying...about 30 seconds later they are landing in the meadows below ready to go again...Dar got a couple of pictures of them.

    ... mountain.

On our way up we crossed waterfalls, meadows, and intensely steep sections. We began talking to a fellow hiker who was a local! We never got his name but enjoyed his stories about Switzerland and growing up in the Alps. We hit it off with him because we mentioned we were from BC and he had visited BC in the 1970s.
