Liz and I rented a car on friday to drive up the West Coromandel Coast and back down the East Coromandel Coast. The roads were the windiest I had ever been on. But, it was worth it! The Thames Hwy 25 was about 85% coastal views. The pictures speek for themselves!

Same as in Australia, there are several possibilities to travel around the country in New Zealand. Companies like "Magic Bus", “Kiwi Experience” and the “Stray Bus” offer bus passes which are organized like a tour: accommodation and activities can be booked in the bus every day and the bus driver serves as a tour guide. It …

We left Raglan and it's 'too cool for school' surfers behind and headed for Coromandel Town, on roads with beautiful views of lush green hills and fields, sheep, cows and lots of shops and signs made out of scrap tin in one particular town.
The roadtrip was the most exciting part, as when we got to the town most of it was shut. As we're here in …

Thirs 8 March Weather not so good today and there was heavy rain in the night. Drove out of Piha on the Scenic Drive and up to the Arataki Visitors' Centre, mainly to view the excellent centre displays and to do a short Nature Trail walk. We got in to Auckland on Friday after our final stop on the Coromandel Peninsula at the town of Coromandel itself. This is a very nice place. It looks as if Disney put the main street together as it's just one twee shop, bar and restauarant after another. Its …

was ok to rest your head. but the beds were a bit worn and springy, and the sheets looked like they had been used for the last 5 years or so. comfy and cosey lounge and kitchen, and what would be a good garden in the summer. Friendly owner.
