Paris-not as romantic when you're with girlfriends

A travel blog entry by andread

Another overnight train got us to Paris, early and exhausted. This time we shared our train compartment with a mother and 2 small children so we all went to bed early. We did a highlights of Paris self-guided tour to keep ourselves busy until we could check in. Picked up our Musee Passes, and then wandered past the Eiffel Tower, walked along the …

The drive back to London was long--we got stuck behind a bad truck accident. We detoured briefly to Cambridge, but mostly we just wanted to get back as we were catching a very early train to Paris the next morning. Our first day in Paris was a whirlwind tour of all the famous sites. Sacre Couer, the Moulin Rouge, Champs d'Elysees, etc. We checked …

The Wiviotts too stand on the shoulders of giants, though they are not the same shoulders as Newton once stood on. The Wiviotts stand on giants such as Napoleon Bonaparte, Jean Cocteau and Victor Huge, to …

    Not great but not bad

The only turnoff with this hostel is that it is huge and accommodates hundreds of people. The majority of these people are youths, ages 12-14 is my guess. Being in this hostel was like being in a noisy school cafeteria.
