Awesome hostel. Clean beds, clean bathrooms. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Quiet rooms besides the snorer on the top bunk.

    Geat Hostile

Would reccomend to anyone. Geat staff (especially Lucas) and very clean facitilites. The dorms are quite crowded, as limited space, but its a hostile so what do you expect. If space and having lots of room is a huge issue, then you might be dissapointed. All of the staff was very friendly, infomred and helpful. The bar did close a bit arly (midnight) but the hostile was very social and if you wanted to go out there were people always willing and anting to go out. And the location was awesome. Not being from Brazil or speaking Protuguese, I found it very safe (Lonely Planet says its the asfets area in Rio) and I did not find myself troubled at all while in Leblon. Great Location. Great Staff. Awesome cleaning staff. Great breakfast with fresh fruit, coffee, meat and cheese and bread. And lots of events and tours they can set you up with. I was super happy with the hostile. Well done

Nice enough hostel, with air con in rooms, cool bar with tasty cocktails. It had a nice little terrace outside the hostel which was good for breakfast and most importantly it was a short walk to the beach! Would recommend.

I extended my stay in Rio for the weekend to spend the last bit with the friends I made at the hostel. One of my closet friends, Kiran, was going home soon and she had been travelling for 9 months! We socialized on the patio again and made an amazing seafood pasta!

Me and Bella spent the day grabbing lunch and setting up my SIM card. It took all day so Bella had to go home after that. She lives in Niteroi which is a very long bus ride away (like 3 hours because traffic is horrible). I went for a long walk on the beach to watch the sunset and I can't believe how incredible it is here. Words cannot describe how …

    Monday 19th December:

Journey wasn't as bad as we thought. It was on a small, bog standard bus, not like the Argie buses with films, comfy seats and food... But we both managed to get some sleep. Stopped for a few bites to eat along the way, and watched a film on the laptop. I have to say it went by quite quickly. Must be getting use to …

Not sure what the hell was going on, thank god we sorta made friends with this Brazilian family otherwise we would still be staring at the information screen in Auckland! We said our good goodbyes at Brazil airport... Not really we just walked away into our cab that we paid triple the price cause we're suckers! Those …

    Arrival in Rio

A travel blog entry by leemclennan on Nov 03, 2014

Long flight from Heathrow to Rio but all good. Sat next to 'Jonathan', as English guy married to a dual Brazilian/Spanish woman. Gave me advice about what to do in Rio. Collected at GIG airport and driven to the hostel. The bar was closed so sat outside with a coke and sent a couple of messages home before bed. Way gone midnight and it's 23 degrees …
