... favourite, with the cathedral's plain ceiling covering a series of smaller shrines, including that of St Cuthbert. Back outside, we visited the Cathedral Library via the cloisters. A librarian (a Kiwi) gave us an impromptu chat about the 13th century building, which used to house the refectory and the dormitories. Went back through the cobble paved alleys of town. Last day in Sheffield - and last full day in England for that matter. It's been an interesting ten days. The aim of this trip was to get back in touch with my English side, especially the language - to try to regain some kind of fluency in my native tongue. And I suppose it's worked, at least a bit. The thing about airports is, they're boring and expensive. Well, Hong Kong's not expensive but being bored does mean that I'm probably munching on something. A coffee at Hong Kong airport is about $20, which sounds like a lot. I had £15 which I swapped for HKD and I think I was given almost $200! I'm rich!! Rich an bored. Taking things easy today, as I'm feeling a bit under the weather. I head down to the centre of Hillsborough around half ten and spend a pleasant morning working in a tea room, feeling a tad out of place with my huge laptop. A very twee establishment indeed, with quality china, woolly tea cosies and plenty of grannies.
