... and dancing one floor above us. But it was cool, food looked so-so and we opted to eat in the dining room. On our way we met a couple from New Zealand and shared a table with them. Graham and Hillary live in South New Zealand, west coast. They are dairy farmers. Very enjoyable evening conversing with them.
We are back in our room watching the French Riviera lights pass by as I write this.

... to my travels I was in desperate need of another shower. Bugger. Next step was to brave the roads to Cannes and the infamous French Rivera. It was only 30k away so was no problem. Well that was until we had to pay 4 lots of tolls to get on the freeway, get of the freeway, get into town and get out again. Totalled about 10€ of tolls! no wonder there is no tax in Monaco. We arrived in Nice during the afternoon although technically it was 4:30pm but once again you wouldn't be able to tell because the city is still buzzing. Thankfully there is a washing lady that comes to the hotel and collects your washing and then brings it back the next day. Didn't do much. Hung around this morning and got to pet my adoring cat fans and went swimming. Oh! And I finished Dracula, which is a very good book, I recommend it.
After our lazy morning we walked around the coastal town. Dad and I took a quick dip in the Mediterranean and finished it off with the cold water from the wash-off-all-the-sand station.

... Kit asked if we could do some pier jumping. This is a local sport where teenagers jump into the sea from the side of the pier. Not too crazy or too dangerous in a reasonable sea.
