After enjoying the serenity for a ...

You know that they will get to their predetermined destination, enjoy the experience, and then perhaps return to Chamonix for a well-deserved vin and plat de Jour.

... then Steven would translate for me. Eventually her friends came in and when her meal was set in front of her she walked over and plopped some of it on each of our plates so that we could try it. Her name is Nanou and she was a hoot. The owner told me later that she comes in every Sunday and sits in "her" booth---the table in the front window where she can see who comes and goes --- she made our meal very memorable. After lunch we headed toward Mer d'Glace --- it's a rapidly ...
