What I love the most is that it is on the water. Nicknamed the "Venice of the North" it is made up of 14 islands and is located at the intersection of lake Märlaren and the Baltic Sea. The name in Swedish translates to Wood Island. We are staying in on the island of Gamla Stan, better known as the old town of Stockholm. Which is central to pretty much everything.
