... for tourists due to the constant barrage of offers -massage?-poncho?-shoe shine?- restaurant?- finger puppet?. I start to wonder if I do infact look all taut and stressed, bedraggled, dirty shoed, hungry(unlikely) and in need of entertainment? If Alan Sugar was ever gonna export The Apprentice to Peru, I think itīd do well.
Older Peruvian ladies with their beautiful long black plaits, and traditional dress are a lot less in your face as they try and peddle ...
... long walk down along the river, and when I got there I was met with a surprising sign: “Carry-on luggage not to weigh more than 11 kg”….WHAt!!! I had not heard a single thing about that, and my bag was weighing at least 17-18 kg + my backpack (and you were only allowed to bring one item). That really surprised me, and I instantly wrote to Rafael for an explanation, and here at 4 PM he will call me at the hotel. Hopefully letting me know it is not a ...
Ollantaytambo, Sacred Valley, Peru chrisser71... really wierd. Our companions were pretty good fun too along with our driver and our own personal cook, appropriately named Delicia. The only downpoint was listening to the jeepīs music selection. Sub-5am James Blunt is no laughing matter.
Our tour ended in Uyuni, where we spent an afternoon enjoying a few beers with other travellers from the salt flats before picking up our night train through to crazy La Paz. It was good to be back in a manic city. La Paz is ...

So after I set up that first tour and spent my remaining dollar reserves, I decided that I should figure out the rest of my schedule for the rest of the journey and get all the necessary things ...

Tomorrow (Saturday) we are off to hike the world famous classic Inca trail. A five day trek along the mountain tops that finishes at Machu Pinchu. Debbie tells me that it involves camping; something that I thought ...
... there if you go to Lima. ( :
Once we got to the airport we had to dump out all our pisco liquor (that the people in the stores said we could bring on the plane because it was travel size and it was a souvenir -LIES!!) Bummer. We should have chugged them. Didn't think about that until we were in Mexico City at 6 am with an 8 hour layover. Luckily, we jumped on a flight that left at 9 am, and got home early. Yay for Peru!!!!!!! Best trip ever!
... to the sales pitches. Amy told me we need a t shirt that says "No I don't want to buy anything, I don't want to look at your menu, I don't want to take your picture!" No joke, in the main square area you probably can't go 30 seconds without someone else coming up to you.
So Cusco so far is kind of eh. We did have an excellent meal off the beaten path that was recommended by Lonely Planet. I knew I liked it from the beginning when there was no one outside begging us to come in and ...
... a few days hiking would make reasonable sense. Then there is the 'model' family – local indigenous women with a child and a llama in tow...and if you are lucky...also a baby llama being carried. They are dressed in their traditional clothes and hats, walking around for tourists that want to take their picture in exchange for money. They would also sometimes be carrying handmade dolls to sell. Llamas tend to walk very ...
