The hostel was really nice and although there were gaps in the wooden building it had mosquito nets, there were hammocks and you could see humingbirds in the dining area.

This is a perfect place to stay. A bed for $6 is a good deal. The girl at the desk spoke fluent English. They arrange tours as well, so you only pay the local price instead of the tourist price. The breakfast is $2.50 and includes a huge pot of coffee or tea, jugo, scrambled eggs and two buns. There is also butter and jam. Great views of the gushing river and hummingbirds.

I started the day by jumping off of a bridge! Here in banos they have a bridge jump that is exactly as it sounds …
Mindo- The Cloud Forest
Up in the Cloud Forest- Mindo, Ecuador. This gorgeous little town lies north of Quito and is the destination for backpackers and bird watchers. This morning I flew across the forest canopy on 13 zip lines! I hiked for 7 hours- bird watching and bug finding! :) Some of the toucan photos are a bit blurry but I thought they were still worth including!
