Loki backpackers is located up a steep hill so is more difficult to get to than those hostels in the centre of town. Also their breakfast is pretty basic. Saying this however, their tour agency is excellent, their parties are well known to be out of control and their dorms are clean.

      Loki Hostel obnoxious but fun

Great place to party, too many weirdos who just drink and stay at the hostel and never leave the premises. Some of them have been staying there for months. Kind of a sad way to travel South America. The people there do have an amazing ability to drink. Fun yes but can be too much at times.

People there are present for one reason: to get smashed. Nice staff though, and cool building. Hill is shithouse.

Really friendly, decent hostel in a great building. Bar staff friendly to the point of alcoholic lunacy. Great fun.

      Nice, but bad beds

The place was nice and a fun getaway, but the bed had that plastic wrap feel that parents use when potty training their children. Not the comfiest.

We arrived in Cusco and quite a few of us from the Peru Hop all booked into the same Hostel, Loki. Before we arrived at our hostel we were warned that it was a BIG party hostel, well they weren't wrong!! We stayed in Cusco for nearly a week in total with a 4 day trip to Machu Picchu nestled in between and thanks to the extremely friendly staff in …

Huachina (who-a-ka-chee-na) is an odd place to arrive in, the bus takes you to the city of Ica which is arid but still fertile so it looks like an other city in Peru; however take a 10 minute taxi ride and you arrive in Huacachina which is a settlement surrounding an oasis which is in turn surrounded by massive sand dunes. I arrived at night so the …

This part of the trip saw us spending some time in the former capital of Peru, sandwiching a stroll down a little path to see some old city. Here's how it went down...

We got our penultimate night bus to Cusco; a mere 10 hour journey(!) Set at 3,400 metres above sea level, Cusco was formerly the capital of the Incan empire that made its …
