... agricultural use. A large part of the area has been proclaimed as a Nature Reserve and is a paradise for water birds. We took a long ride through the area which had its moments like where the road ended up on the water's edge with only a self-help rope ferry to get us across.

After a pretty uneventful 300km drive we came to the town of Ribe and checked into a very nice but expensive campsite. we are now operating in Krone as our monetary currency. 7.00 Krone is around 1.00 Euro so having got used to thinking in Euro we now need to divide everything by 7 then multiply by 13 to get Rands. We wandered back via Netto as the other supermarkets were shut. We suddenly remembered it's bank holiday so that might explain the empty town too. A couple of bits and back to camp for hand washing of smalls and a mega sunbathing session. The brisk breeze kept it bearable but there is real heat in the Danish sun! A light lunch and then ...

... the mile or so into Middelfart. We could have used the small town harbour but we decided instead to make use of the better equipped marina on the outskirts. Middelfart looks like a prosperous, pleasant little town and we enjoyed the walk in the warm sun, warm that is when one was out of the cutting breeze. There was not much of note in the town, other than old church undergoing renovation and a half timbered house from around ...
