... it to security.
Checked in, I have plenty of time to go downstairs and find the left luggage so do so. This is why I like Ataturk airport. There are all kinds of shops and stores and a post office and drugstore all in the departure area before you go through security. So many airports have nothing at all before security so if you are stuck there for awhile before your gate opens, you have nothing to ...
... the riding the Trans Gambian Highway last year. I stop to take a few pictures and am joined by two young boys photographing the bike and me from every angle with their mobiles.
There is one further diversion before the long straight run to Kiev. The towns are quiet. Ladas are the car of the people in this part of the Ukraine unlike the top of the range cars flashing along the main roads. Towns and villages are quiet. Farming ...
... gone up to 103, and I was to remain there in the sick bay. For a whole day, my temp stayed up between 101 and 103. By the next day...somehow I had gotten worse. My throat (tonsil) had grown to the size of a golf ball and I couldn't swallow anything at all—including water which later caused severe dehydration. So the doctor checked me again, and then had a nose and throat specialist come in to check me too. Which lead to IVs and ...
Kiev, Ukraine delongchristy... amazed at the collection, it also had a room of Jewish treasurers. We made our way back to the metro, after stopping in for another meal of perogies. We just made one wrong turn when we left the station where we had to get from the red line to the green line, turned left instead of right, back on the right track and the right train. A short walk home, Len went to the store for cheese and I went into the apartment to get diner ready. Another amazing and interesting day.
Kiev, Ukraine dancejill... them was sev**ely injured. Oth**s w**e burglarized or robbed. Still oth**s, though not physically harmed, had problems, too. As is the case with many volunte**s, Kelly Callahan of Kett**ing said she arrived at h** village, Kouassi-Eatearo, without a place to live. The mayor invited h** to stay at his home and, said Callahan, also invited h** to share his bed. Sheva Nickravesh had a host family that stole from h**, three dogs w**e myst**iously killed and she was harassed by ...
Kiev, Ukraine rebecca.mcneal... coming from the current patient, so how bad could this be. An elderly woman was leaving and I was shown to the chair. Yes, it was a "dental chair" and it had a "dental light" and "dental stool" and some other "dental looking equipment", maybe a sterilizer (I was looking for one). Using hand signals for communication I was seated and a bib was placed around my neck and the light switched on - all good!

... Ukrainian baked treats that we have been ingesting. In the afternoon, Marilyn, Yuliya and I walkedd through a beautiful section of town, the Podil neighborhood and strolled through an art fair/flea market. After a dinner at a traditional Ukrainian restaurant, we "enjoyed" the most sardine-can like subway ride I have ever had in my ...
Kiev, Ukraine dstingle... shouldn't. Plus I didn't have a bed to sleep in as there was another backpacker still asleep. So I went out into the rain to have a look around. Went to St. Sophia's Cathedral. It was nice but one thing about Europe is you can have serious church overload. In almost every city there are at least 2 or 3 churches worth seeing but after a while they all start to look the same. Plus I know there are a lot more churches for me to see in the future on this trip ...
Kiev, Ukraine eileenj... the city is currently electing a mayor... but still, from the news and Orange Revolution of 2004 I imagined that it would be more like Tianamen Sqaure in Beijing. Don't get me wrong, it was big, and a very interesting shape, not really square at all... just not what I expected. We didn't wait long before a recognizable shape sauntered our way! Dima! Threes years have passed, but the only thing that has changed was the length of his hair. (Oh, getting kicked out of the cafe, later!) -Ash
Kiev, Kiev, Ukraine aszlirossKiev has been an interesting place so far. Everywhere one walks, one will hear the click of stiletto heels against the ground. In my opinion, out of all the places I've visited thus far, Ukraine has the hottest girls. They even have something called "face control" at the clubs, where doormen do not allow certain people in due to how they look. But, what stands out to me ...
