In our short time in Australia, our impression has been that it's a big empty country whose population is almost entirely on holiday. It's easy to see why people want to retire out here.
We took a gentle 4-day drive from Melbourne to Sydney, stopping at a series of beaches and little towns along the way. Like the Great Ocean Road, it's a fun …
After a 16 hour flight we arrived in Sydney and headed straight for our hostel in the Kings Cross area. After a bit of shopping at Paddy's market and a stroll around Darling Harbour we took the boat around to Circular Quay. This boat journey is one of the best in Sydney, as you turn the corner you see the huge Sydney harbour bridge and then as …
Extremely hungover today due to far too many jugs of lager last night, so I'll do my best with this one.

3 nights here was complete torture, there was no aircon and no fan! When we asked for a fan we were told it must have been removed by someone. We asked if we could have a spare one and they said they didn't have one, despite there being an unused fan lying right behind the guy at the time. Didn't sleep properly at all, wouldn't recommend.
