Wish we had more than one night at this place. It was about 50 minutes out of Nelson though and no services after 5pm out of season. but good rooms and nice people

    Day 2

We had a really long day on the bus today, we have to pick up and drop off at the ferry at Picton but the weather has caused huge swells and long delays so a lot of waiting around. We went to see the seal pups at a waterfall out of Kaikoura on the way and then spent some time wandering around Picton to kill some time. We finally got to the hostel …

The crossing from Wellington to Picton was a difficult one. Lots of hungover people on a 3 hour ferry is never a good combination. What a busy last few days we have had! We started our kiwi experience on Friday 14th February and have already seen so much! Our first driver, Scottie, was a little crazy! We got picked up bright and early and drove down to Kaikoura, town famous for whale and dolphin watching. As we are returning here we thought we would get people's feedback on …

Still non stop and loving New Zealand and we have made it to the South Island after an amazing week and a half exploring the North. We can't believe that in such a short space of time we have experienced so much of the country and it's activities, being on the kiwi bus is really helping as they are so helpful with everything we haven't had to book …

There was some ridiculously wriggly gentleman in the bunk next to me last night and so I was kept awake by the creek and cranks of the bed. At about 3am his rigorous moving actually cost him his entire pillow and so he then grunted and huffed and proceeded to climb down from his bunk very angrily before throwing is pillow back onto his bed. This …
