I love coming to this country. It is vast. It is raw. It is unpredictable. It is unnerving. It is also one of the warmest places one can visit.

The tide was out when I arrived, so a steep climb down barnacled stone steps took me along the shoreline of fishing boats where people live, fish and trade from their vessels. It is very much a marine atmosphere here that takes you back to a slow and different time.

I will only be here this one night before a bit of travel tomorrow to live in the round houses of the Hakka ethnic minority. The round houses, as you will see, were mistaken by the USA, back in the Cold War days, as missile silos!
