Ich bin ein Berliner

A travel blog entry by ameng

21st May, 2012
By now I was used to long train trips (12 hours+) so the 6 hour train ride from Munich to Berlin didn't seem like too big a challenge. How wrong I was! The previous night out certainly didn't help as we were all feeling quite average, but I can safely say this was one of the most slow and painful train rides I've experienced. …

Day 17

A travel blog entry by banvilleabroad

I woke up today in a panic, as one usually does when they drink too much the night before and have to get up early. Luckily I still had a few minutes to get to where I was meeting up with the Scotts, so I crammed everything into my bag and checked out of the hostel and down the road I went.
I met up with Chris and Williamm at the Flyig …

Berlin must have been the cool kid at school. Amongst the blatant drug dealers, tasteful graffiti, diverse culture, urban sprawl, Berlin Wall history, and World War Two history lies an friendly bunch of people living together independently.

Our Berlin adventures commenced with a train ride from Prague into Berlin. I'm assuming that the EU …

So, I decided to make this site so I can list where the heck I am or am planning to be. The future cities listed on this itinerary are dates I've planned for certain where I'm visiting friends. I'll fill in the gaps as I meander around in between.

I love Berlin

I've been in Europe for about a week now. There are a few things I've learned.

1. European cheese smells awful. I got some Havarti, and it smells like feet (for my friends at Keystone, it smells like BHI agar(.

2. Public transit is great. I've always thought that, but the train and metro system in Europe is superior. It's amazing …

One of the best hostels, the staff are super friendly, facilities were great too. The rooms are large and clean, and the common room/kitchen is a great place to meet other travellers. It is a little bit out of the way but close enough to public transport and shops/restaurants. Highly recommended!

    Great facilities

The beds, showers and bathrooms were amazing. There wasn't a very good communal area so mingling with other stayers wasn't much of an option. Also it wasn't that close to public transport. Great spot to relax and recharge the batteries.
