      ... returning here would feel like returning to civilisation. But compared to where we have just been, thats exactly what it feels like. Fully aware of what the traffic is like in this city we had arranged to stay relatively near the airport as the following day we would flying out to Hanoi, Vietnam via Singapore.

      A guy in a Sergeant Pepper's style yellow suit was waiting outside the airport with a board spelling out Ashleigh's name. He was from our hotel, the FM7. ...

      ... It was a great fun evening, I met some very interesting people and got very sore feet from new high heels! I also experienced my first Jakartan leech in the form of an Mancunian expat and his married brother. Despite being politely disinterested they would not leave me alone to the extent I had to tell him I was engaged (sorry Ross...) but still they would not leave me alone and insisted then it was my fault for not telling them earlier that I was taken. ...

      In less than 48-hours we were back at the airport – sad times. That said, every cloud has a silver lining, as despite being sad that our originally-planned trip didn’t take us to NZ, we’d now be going after all.
