    Nice place

Very nice place with super friendly and helpful staff. Nice rooms, I stayed in a 3-bed-room which was nice, though my bed was a bit uncomfortable. They offer loads of tours and book them for you. It's a quiet place and it's a bit far out from the city, but they have a courtesy shuttle to and from the city several times a day. Could probably use more fans in communal areas since it gets really hot and sticky in Cairns during summer months. Would stay there again!

Very nice would stay here again, free breakfast and dinner. Also free shuttle bus into the centre which is only 20 mins walk, lovely walk along the esplanade back.
Will help you out with anything and even get you cheaper deals on Greyhound and boat trips etc.
    Thank you!

Early start this morning as we were being picked up at our hostel at 7.30am to be taken to the pier for our boat to the reef. We were the first pick up and finally got to our boat at 7.55 and it was leaving at 8, just in time! We had to fill in a safety/medical form and hand it in and we were each given a number that we had to remember for the day …

Today was the day that Andy arrived in Cairns. It was amazing that this day has finally arrived, quite frankly, four months too late! Only kidding after collecting him from the airport and taking his stuff back to the hotel I made sure that we didn't stop for long or else all he'd want to do is fall asleep! He didn't seem too tired at first and …

Not a lot to say about Cairns other than I arrived here at the end of May and had until the 19th May until Andy arrived to kill time.

Once I arrive I looked at all sorts of trips that I could do from Cairns and found Cape Tribulation, the Atherton Tablelands and Magnetic Island. So I was in and out of Cairns like a yoyo which I found was …

    Forest and Snorkels

We arrived into Cairns with its warm and wet weather conditions, after a long and excruciating flight from Singapore (having a stop in Darwin for a couple of hours).

The hostel 'Cairns City Backpackers', which we stayed in was quite possibly the worst hostel we had ever experienced. We were lucky to get a room with a shower in it, but t...
