... was coming to a end so the snow was kinda slushy but we found a couple of good runs and spent most of the day going up and down the same ones and can officially say we have skied Japan!!!

Once back down in the village (when our cold hands could take no more) we found out it was a thermal springs village and in the car parks they have little pools that you can sit and dip your feet in....the perfect end to a day of skiing.

Japan Snow Adventure

Caught train from Tokyo to Nagano station. Took 1 hour and a half. Then took local train to togironozawa onsen which took at hour. As we go deeper into the mountains the snow gets thicker and excitement grows. The magic of snow is reflected in some school kids eyes who are I am guessing on a school camp. ... flakes were piling up fast on the road below us, the surrounding rooftops, and the trees covering the hill on the other side of the little river.

We had breakfast, then went for one last soak in the outdoor tub, grateful for the umbrellas hanging by the back door. It was lovely to sit in the hot water, looking out over a landscape quietly disappearing under a blanket of snow.

Oze National Park

... of Mt. Shibutsu was picturesque and the picture of the scenery was frequently used in leaflets or guides to promote Oze tourism. There were some photographers setting up their camera on a tripod there, but unfortunately, Mt. Shibutsu was covered with a cloud around the top. So they were waiting for the cloud to leave. I didn't stay there long, because I thought it was better to take a chance to come back to the spot later than to just wait.
