      Fri 30 Aug. Last night the wind was blowing a gale. I'm sure we were hit by the Roaring Forties that come through this Cape region. The rain was also quite heavy at times and as we only had half of our annex up, it was catching the wind like a spinnaker on a yacht. This kept me awake most of the night and in end got up, pulled annex down and rolled up the awning. Talk about drama.
